Next Saturday 15th September, Nora will be leading a dance and movement workshop, 'Collective Rhythms'.
Nora (she/they) is an emerging multidisciplinary artist whose inconsistent practice dabbles in movement, crafts and visual arts. Drawn to themes of belonging, connection, healing and renewal, Nora views art & creativity as portals to bridge fragmented realities and foster communal care. Her practice currently explores embodied narratives, recurring instances and conversations between the intentional & the unexpected. Untangling and (re)weaving experiences, her practice is informed by a meditative & interactive approach to creating & co-creating.
About the Workshop:
Join us for a creative day out and boogie by the sea, centred around the themes of care & belonging! Together, we will explore ways in which tenderness, community & collective resilience are cultivated within groups from marginalised genders to navigate & resist oppressive systems. This workshop and creative lab is intended for creatives who identify as women and/or non binary and/or trans and we particularly encourage people who do not often dance or move creatively to come along - it will be low key, playful and wholesome!
The aim of this creative retreat is to connect with other creatives & the environment around us through movement and feel inspired together. There will be opportunities to capture ideas & respond creatively to the themes explored throughout the session - so feel free to bring along any art supplies, music instruments, recording equipment, or technology, that you can carry (we will provide some material as well).
Although there is no pressure to contribute, we would love for this creative day to result in a tangible collaborative project - perhaps a film? a publication? an exhibition? Who knows!
